Educator Led Communities of Care (ELCC)

The Educator Led Communities of Care program creates monthly gathering spaces for family child care educators to come together with their peers to share resources and engage in high-quality professional development training. This program aims to reduce isolation and make a positive shift in the lives of Family Child Care educators that is geared towards professional growth, leadership, and community building. ELCC offers training relevant to the work of licensed and Family, Friend and Neighbor providers, monthly support gatherings, and peer mentorship to help educators set and achieve their professional goals.

All Our Kin (AOK)
The All Our Kin Virtual Business Series is designed to support adult learners to have positive and successful learning experiences, so they leave with the knowledge and relationships to sustain and grow their family child care businesses.  The business series program supports family child care educators in their journey as successful business owners. This comprehensive program provides 34 hours of material over a 10-week series, covering essential topics such as contracts and policies, marketing, risk management, accounting, tax record keeping and more.

MiraCosta
The CCPU Training Fund, in partnership with MiraCosta Community College, offers 12 college credit child development courses. These classes will be virtual, and entirely in Spanish for family child care educators who work with children receiving subsidies from the state of California. Two classes will be offered each semester, with each class lasting 8 weeks. Classes will be 2 evenings a week from Monday to Friday. Enrollees will receive financial and technological support as well as mentorship. Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Pathways This FFN Program is designed for license-exempt family, friend and neighbor childcare providers who are interested in any or all of the following components: ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation regulations, receiving support towards earning licensure, and receiving the benefits of mentorship and financial support. The FFN Program begins with a Regulations 101 course: a six-hour workshop series, divided into three sessions of two hours each. The FFN program also provides the opportunity for providers to be walked through the licensure process using a series of trainings that may be taken consecutively or intermittently, offered by both the CCPU TF and external partners. Providers may also decide to “jump” in and out of this program as their needs/interests may change over the course of the training period. Additional resources include ongoing mentorship, opportunities to earn two stipends, connection to R&Rs, and support accessing wraparound services including within the CCPU TF, like Higher Ed & Tech and Training departments.
